Brief
The Big Gay Sketch Show is a comedy sketch show on the Logo Network (from MTV Networks), and they're looking for new potential talent. To help them in their search, they wanted to put out a virtual casting call online via a custom social networking website. Logo wanted to encourage members to upload photos and videos to their profiles, and answer questions via blog posts and comments highlighting their comedic talents.
Solution
Cohesive developed and launched the BigGayCasting.com community website where visitors can watch videos and read up on all the contestants, and vote for all of their favorites. The site, developed in Ruby on Rails, integrates several 3rd party APIs and services, including the Flux social networking platform. Sketch talent from across the country can now showcase their abilities in hopes of being the next star on the show.
